Bruce Timm, who is seen to have revolutionized Batman on the small screen with Batman: The Animated Series, which aired from 1992 to 1995, is returning to the Caped Crusader with… uh… Batman: Caped Crusader. Timm will be executive producing the new series alongside big names J.J. Abrams and The Batman director Matt Reeves.
Caped Crusader is touted as being a “reimagining of the Batman mythology”. Here is how Abrams describes it:
“The series will be thrilling, cinematic and evocative of Batman’s noir roots, while diving deeper into the psychology of these iconic characters.”
No release date for the HBO Max and Cartoon Network series has been announced, but the show has a straight-to-series order for it. Here’s the teaser poster for it:
Also, there is a new Superman animated series on order from HBO Max and Cartoon Network. My Adventures with Superman is aimed at youth and family audiences, and will feature 20-something versions of Superman, Lois Lane, and Jimmy Olsen doing investigative reporting at the Daily Planet. Jack Quaid will voice Superman/Clark Kent. No release date was revealed for this series either.
