Gina Carano Fired From The Mandalorian In Less Than Twelve Parsecs

Gina Carano, who played Cara Dune, has been fired from The Mandalorian, following social media controversy.

In a statement, Lucasfilm said, “Gina Carano is not currently employed by Lucasfilm and there are no plans for her to be in the future. Nevertheless, her social media posts denigrating people based on their cultural and religious identities are abhorrent and unacceptable.”

In a now deleted Instagram post, Carano compared today’s political climate to Nazi Germany.

“Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…even by children. Because history is edited, most people today don’t realize that to get to the point where Nazi soldiers could easily round up thousands of Jews, the government first made their own neighbors hate them simply for being Jews. How is that any different from hating someone for their political views?”

Another deleted post from her Instagram story had a person with multiple masks covering their face and head and was captioned, “Meanwhile in California.”

This isn’t Carano’s first criticized social media post. She has mocked mask mandates, promoted US election conspiracies, liked posts disparaging Black Lives Matter, and ridiculed preferred gender pronouns.
