It looks like Matt Damon may be back for more in Thor: Love and Thunder. The actor, famous for roles in such films Good Will Hunting, Saving Private Ryan, and the starring role Bourne franchise is reportedly joining the film in a yet-to-be-revealed role. Will he be reprising his role as an Asgardian who played Loki in a play in Thor: Ragnarok? If so, we hope it is a somewhat meatier role, since he and his family have moved to Australia for a few months with his family to do the filming.
Damon said of Australia and the industry there upon arriving in the country:
“I’m so excited that my family and I will be able to call Australia home for the next few months. Australian film crews are world-renowned for their professionalism and are a joy to work with so the 14 days of quarantine will be well worth it. Australia definitely is the lucky country, and I can’t wait to show my family Australia’s down to earth people, breathtaking scenery and diverse culture.”
Damon is the latest high-profile actor to join the cast. Last December it was confirmed that Christian Bale would be in the film as Gorr the God Butcher. Love and Thunder was originally announced for November 5, 2021 but was pushed back to May 6, 2022.
