Did The Post-Credits Scene From ‘The Mandalorian’ Season Two Finale Tease A New Series Or…?

Okay, first off, there will be SPOILERS here for the season two finale of The Mandalorian, so just a warning.

The Mandalorian ends its second season today, and the ending of the show changed the status of the show somewhat dramatically. There are of course loose ends that can (and should be) tied up, the show surprisingly could be an ending point for the series. Which brings us to the post-credits scene…

Yes there was a post credits scene. No, it wasn’t Mace Windu asking Din Djarin to join the Resistance Initiative, but it did seem to tease a new show… or something. The post-credits scene shows a return to Tatooine and Jabba‘s Palace, where Boba Fett (Temuera Morrison) and Fennec Shand (Ming-Na Wen) return to take over the place. The scene fades to black with the text “The Book of Boba Fett” and “December 2021”.

During the Disney Investor Day presentation last week, Lucasfilm announced a few spin-off series to The Mandalorian and confirmed work on Mandalorian season three to start in December, but did not mention The Book of Boba Fett. Given how The Mandalorian season two ended, will Fett’s story take over the show or will two Star Wars series be running next December? Whichever is the case, we’ll be seeing more of the Boba Fett in the future. Hopefully, Disney and Lucasfilm clarifies this soon…
