Using Made Up Names Now: ‘Doctor Strange’ Teleports Into ‘Spider-Man’ Sequel Movie

When we reported on Jamie Foxx reprising his role of Electro in the next Spider-Man movie, we mentioned that that addition and the previous movie’s inclusion of J.K. Simmons, might hint at some kind of multiverse tie-in. Well, here’s more fuel for that fire as it is now being reported that Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) whose next film will be titled Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is also joining the cast.

According to the report, the Doc will be put in a mentor role to Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in the film. The third MCU Spider-Man film is said to start shooting later this month, and so is the next Doctor Strange, but in a different country. It is unknown when Cumberbatch will film his scenes for Spider-Man.

The third MCU Spider-Man film is currently scheduled to swing into theaters December 17, 2021. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is currently scheduled to be projected on March 25, 2022.
