Back in February, when the pandemic was at it’s early stages, then-Disney CEO Bob Iger announced that the Disney+ streaming series The Falcon and The Winter Soldier will start streaming in August 2020. Well, that was pre-pandemic, and since, the production has been affected by effects of the virus.
Though we did not see an announcement by Disney, if you are a Disney+ member and look at the show’s page, the information now states that the show will start in 2021.
The page reads:
“Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.” The all-new series is directed by Kari Skogland; Malcolm Spellman is the head writer. Coming 2021.”
It does not appear to be a typo, as it also likes “2021” above the summary, and if you click on the Details link, it also has the same text and in summary says “Release Date: 2021”.
So we’ll have to wait a little longer to see these two in action again. In the meantime, you can view a fraction of the second of the show in the “Big Game Spot” aired in February.
