Majors May Have A Major Role In Third ‘Ant-Man’ Movie

The third Ant-Man movie might be a while away, especially because of the current pandemic, but that does not mean its production is immune from rumors. Today, the film is rumored to have recruited a major talent, Jonathan Majors, who most recently appeared in the HBO series Lovecraft Country. Not only is the actor said to be attached to the film, but he is also supposedly cast in a major role.

The rumored role is of that time travelin’ blue man group member, Kang the Conqueror. As with most time-related characters, his origin is somewhat of a mess, having different incarnations. He first appears as Rama-Tut in Fantastic Four #19 (1963), but first showed up as Kang in Avengers #8 (1964). His convoluted origin has him currently pegged as Nathaniel Richards from the 31st century Earth-6311. Hailing from the distant future, he has a keen intellect and advanced fighting skills, and access to advanced technology including his weaponized battle armor, complete with time-manipulation abilities™.

We don’t know if the Marvel Cinematic Universe version of Kang will have the same origins, but that would provide for some interesting ties to the Fantastic Four…

The third Ant-Man film is being directed by Peyton Reed. It was previously rumored to arrive in 2022, but who knows now. Maybe Kang can help arrange a new schedule…
