The massive science fiction saga known as Dune, started out with the 1965 novel Dune by Frank Herbert. The novels are set thousands of years in the future were computers are not allowed, but advanced technology and human ability exist, and are set most famously on the desert planet Arrakis, source of the valuable spice melange.
Dune was brought to the big screen before, back in 1984, directed by David Lynch. It also graced the smaller screen in 2000 as Frank Herbert’s Dune, directed by John Harrison. The newest attempt is being brought to the big screen by director Denis Villeneuve. Timothée Chalamet has the role of Paul Atreides, with other characters played by people known to genre fans such as Oscar Isaac (Duke Leto Atreides), Josh Brolin (Gurney Halleck), Stellan Skarsgård (Baron Vladimir Harkonnen), Dave Bautista (Glossu Rabban), and Jason Momoa (Duncan Idaho).
