Director Reportedly Selected For Leto-Led ‘Tron’ Sequel (UPDATED)

A follow-up to the Tron franchise has been rumored for a while, until the project hit a jetwall back in 2015. Even back then, Jared Leto‘s name associated with the crashed sequel. Last month, talk about a follow-up began again, with a Disney exec bringing up the possibility that a Tron sequel streaming on Disney+. Now Deadline is adding some digital fuel to the fire with the newest rumor that a director is being eyed for the sequel and the mention of Leto being attached.

According to Deadline, Garth Davis has been selected to direct the next Tron film. Davis directed more “art house” type of films such as Mary Magdalene and Lion. Jesse Wigutow penned the most recent draft of the script. Morbius actor Leto is said to both be starring and producing the project. Wonder what kind of shenanigans that joker will bring to the set of Tron?
