Robert Downey Jr.’s adaptation of Jeff Lemire’s Sweet Tooth has jumped from Hulu to Netflix.
Cast members for the adaptation include Christian Convery as the lead character, James Brolin, Will Forte, Nonso Anozie, and Adeel Akhtar.
“Sweet Tooth is the broad appeal, family-friendly, storybook adventure of Gus – part deer, part boy – who leaves his home in the forest to find the outside world ravaged by a cataclysmic event,” reads Netflix’s description of the show. “He joins a ragtag family of humans and animal-children hybrids like himself in search of answers about this new world and the mystery behind his hybrid origins.”
Hulu ordered a pilot for Sweet Tooth in November 2018 with Hap & Leonard co-creator Jim Mickle writing and directing. Mickle is back for the Netflix adaptation co-writing and co-showrunning with former Arrow showrunner Beth Schwartz.
Additionally, Lemire has revealed that he is reviving the comic series at DC Comics.
Sweet Tooth ran for 40 issues at DC’s now-defunct imprint Vertigo Comics from 2009 to 2013.
