‘Star Wars’ Cassian Andor Series Adds O’Reilly, Gough, & A Showrunner

The yet-to-be-titled Star Wars Cassian Andor series has added two new actors to its roster. Genevieve O’Reilly should be a sort of familiar face to Star Wars fans. She played one of the founders of the Rebellion, Mon Mothma in Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and voiced the character in the animated Star Wars Rebels. O’Reilly will be reprising her role as Mon Mothma in the upcoming show.

Also joining the show will be Denise Gough. Gough has had several stage roles, as well as roles in films and television. Her television career has largely been on British shows, such as Titanic: Blood and Steel, Stella, and Guerrilla. She also voiced Yennefer of Vengerberg in The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt videogame. Both O’Reilly and Gough appeared in the 2019 film The Kid Who Would Be King.

Today’s announcement also confirmed the recruitment of Stellan Skarsgård and Kyle Soller to the show. It also revealed that Rogue One co-writer Tony Gilroy will not only write for the show, but be the show’s showrunner.

The Cassian Andor series will feature the life of the Rebel intelligence officer before the events of Rogue One. It will stream on Disney+ sometime in the future.
