Pre-Production Has Started On Season 3 Of ‘The Mandalorian’

A couple of months ago, Bob Iger updated the world on the status of The Mandalorian. He noted that there would be more Mandalorian content, including possible spin-offs and Mandalorian beyond season 2. According to Variety, work beyond season 2 has already begun. Their sources tell them that showrunner Jon Favreau has been writing for season 3 “for a while”, and Doug Chiang has been working on concepts for “the past few weeks”.

Though the show is working on pre-production on season 3, which largely can be done remotely (due to the current COVID-19 pandemic), it’s still a mystery when they can start filming with the cast. Luckily, filming for season 2 has already been completed:

So assuming they can complete the special effects and editing remotely, season 2 (which was announced before season 1 started streaming) can stay on schedule. The Mandalorian season 2 is expected to launch in October.
