‘Venom’ Movie Sequel Gets A Title & Date (Updated)

Sony‘s 2018 Spider-Man related movie, Venom, was kind of a surprise hit at the box office. Even before that though, it seems Sony had plans for a sequel, having star Tom Hardy sign on for a three-movie deal. Anyway, the sequel seemed a go, with Hardy’s participation confirmed, and Andy Serkis on board as director. What we didn’t know was when it would be released and what it would be called.

Well, that changed today. The mid-credits scene from the first movie teased some carnage, and yes it looks like we will be getting some Cletus Kasady aka. Carnage (Woody Harrelson) in the film as the title will be: Venom: Let There Be Carnage. The movie was thought to be releasing in the October 2020 slot reserved for an untitled Marvel movie, but instead will be released on June 25, 2021.

We’ll see if Marvel will have more Carnage events then…

Update: Tom Hardy shared a brief teaser on his Instagram
