‘Firefly: Watch How I Soar’ Graphic Novel Scheduled To Land In November

Firefly was a 2002 “space western” television series created by Joss Whedon. Though the show lasted only one season (and spawned a movie), it has very passionate fans. Though the show was over, the characters lived on in comics, and in 2018 the Firefly license was acquired by BOOM! Studios where the comic series has been since then. Today BOOM! and 20th Century Fox announced a new addition to the Firefly comic universe, an original graphic novel titled Firefly: Watch How I Soar.

The graphic novel will be by Ethan Young and Jorge Corona and will focus on the Serenity‘s pilot, Hoban “Wash” Washburne. Here’s how BOOM! describes the title:

Everyone’s life can change in an instant- and for Hoban “Wash” Washburne, pilot of the spaceship Serenity, he’s just realized… he’s about to die.

As Wash’s life flashes before his eyes, he revisits the most important, never-before-revealed moments in his life, from growing up on a planet so ravaged by pollution that no star could shine in the sky to meeting the woman of his dreams in Zoë Alleyne, who would become his wife and create a life with him beyond his wildest imagination.

And in those final moments, Wash will reach out to connect with a surprising someone he never thought possible…proving that some bonds transcend this mortal coil.

Firefly: Watch How I Soar is scheduled to launch in November.
