Harold Appears To Be The Chosen One To Write For The ‘Obi-Wan Kenobi’ Series

From a certain point of view, the Star Wars related Obi-Wan Kenobi series seemed to be hitting a snag earlier this year. Not so, said show’s star Ewan McGregor, claiming that:

“The scripts are really good. I saw 90% of the writing and I really liked it. All this bullshit about creative differences and all that stuff is, none of it true. We just pushed the dates, they want — last episode, episode 9 came out, everyone had more time to read the stuff that had been written, and they felt that they wanted to do more work on it. So they slid the shoot. “

Well, if Variety’s sources are correct, McGregor might not have the high ground on the writing front. Their reporting says that a new writer is onboard for the series: Joby Harold. If true, it will be Harold’s first writing for the smaller screen, having written for John Wick: Chapter 2 and currently writing for the Transformers Bumblebee sequel.

So far, McGregor is still attached to the Obi-Wan Disney+ streaming series, as is director Deborah Chow. According to McGregor, shooting on the series will start early next year. Hopefully he wasn’t just pulling a Jedi mind trick on the interviewer…
