It looks like the second season of The Mandalorian will be getting another force user. According to the entertainment news site /Film, actress Rosario Dawson will be cast as Star Wars fan favorite character Ahsoka Tano for the series. Until now, Tano only appeared in animated form, first in the Star Wars: The Clone Wars series, then in Star Wars Rebels, with a few appearances in the anthology shorts of Star Wars Forces of Destiny. If the rumors pan out, this will be Tano’s first official appearance in live-action.
Dawson expressed interest in playing Ahsoka since 2017:
and reiterated the interest earlier this year:
Ahsoka Tano was last seen chronologically in the two-part season finale of Star Wars Rebels, where she was seen heading off with Sabine Wren to find the main character of the series, Ezra Bridger. That sequence was post Return of the Jedi, so if she does appear in The Mandalorian it means she survived at least five years after that. Does that mean we may see a live-action Sabine Wren as well? She was Mandalorian after all…
Assuming it sticks to its schedule, The Mandalorian season 2 will start in October.
