Marvel shows that they have some rocks by bringing back the Infinity Stones to feature in an event called Infinite Destinies. Similar to how Marvel handled last year’s Acts of Evil Summer event, the storyline for Infinite Destinies will be the feature across several Summer annual issues. Writer Jed MacKay explains the premise for the event:
The Infinity Stones have found new homes — as people!” … “INFINITE DESTINIES is the next chapter in the story of the Infinity Stones and the people they’ve bonded with — and the powers in the Marvel Universe who are taking interest in these powerful new players.”
The first annual to feature the Infinite Destinies story is Iron Man Annual #1. This will be written by Jed MacKay with art by Ibraim Roberson.
Iron Man learns about the strange people who kidnapped and tortured Miles Morales, he HAS to look into it. What he finds out about the Assessor and especially Quantum will shock him — and you!
Also in June will be Captain America Annual #1 written by Gerry Duggan and illustrated by Marco Castiello. This annual will:
… focus on the fugitive known as Overtime in CAPTAIN AMERICA ANNUAL #1. After breaking out of death row when the Time Stone chose to bond with his soul, Overtime was gifted powers he barely understood. Now, thanks to Captain America… his time is up.
The event will run through eight annuals, the rest being Thor Annual #1 (featuring Spirit of Corruption) and Black Cat Annual #2 (featuring White Fox) in July; Avengers Annual #1 (featuring a mystery character) and Miles Morales: Spider-Man Annual #1 (featuring Amulet) in August; and Guardians of the Galaxy Annual #1 (featuring Prince of Power) and Amazing Spider-Man Annual #2 (featuring Star) in September.
Along with the main story in the annuals, a back-up story will continue in each issue called “Super-Spy vs. Super-Spy” featuring Nick Fury the Agent of Nothing and Phil Coulson the Agent of Mephisto.
