HBO Developing The Last Of Us TV Series With Chernobyl Creator

HBO is developing a TV series based on the video game The Last Of Us. The post-apocalyptic game centers on the relationship between Joel, a smuggler in this new world, and Ellie, a teenager who may be key to a cure for the mutant Cordyceps fungus strain which has turned most of humanity into zombie-like creatures known as the Infected.

The series will be co-written and produced by Craig Mazin, creator of Chernobyl, and Neil Druckmann, Vice President of Naughty Dog, the company behind The Last Of Us. Carolyn Strauss and Naughty Dog President Evan Wells will also executive produce.

It will be the first project from Playstation Productions.
