New ‘Star Wars’ Feature Has A Sleight Chance Of Being Made

Always in motion the future of Star Wars is. The franchise is currently experiencing a bit of a rough patch, with some successes like The Mandalorian and other less-than praised efforts such as Solo and the sequel trilogy, but it seems that the folks at Lucasfilm are still trying to cook up more projects for Star Wars. The newest rumor is that a feature is in the works from J.D. Dillard (writer/director on Sleight) and Matt Owens (writer on Luke Cage and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.).

Details about the feature are unclear. It is unknown if it will be a movie or something streaming on Disney+, though Disney CEO Bob Iger recently said that most of the focus of near future Star Wars efforts will be on Disney+. Deadline is reporting though that the new work would take place on the hidden world of the Sith called Exegol, located in the Unknown Regions. Exegol was revealed in the final chapter of the Skywalker Saga, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, last December.

We’ll see if this one gets made or if it will go the way of Benioff and Weiss‘ film…
