This Week’s Captain America: The End Removes Joe Simon As Creator, Credits Stan Lee

This week saw the release of Captain America: The End written and drawn by Erik Larsen, with colors by Dono Sánchez-Almara and letters by Joe Caramagna. At the bottom of the credits page, Captain America is credited as being created by Jack Kirby and Stan Lee.

The problem is that Captain America was created by Jack Kirby and Joe Simon.

Instead of issuing an actual apology, one of three editors listed on the issue, Jordan D. White took to Twitter to give a half-assed apology in a reply.

We know comics is a grind, but with three editors credited, someone should have caught this. Or perhaps the hero worship of Stan Lee is so great, that Marvel employees really do think Stan created everything.
