The Witcher, the live-action series on Netflix based on the book series by Andrzej Sapkowski (which also inspired a popular videogame series) seems to have done well for the streaming company. Netflix has already greenlit a second season for the show, and now they have announced a new project for the franchise.
The Witcher: Nightmare of the Wolf is an “anime” brought to you by the same team who did the live-action series, showrunner Lauren S. Hissrich and writer Beau DeMayo. The animation on the series will be by South Korean company Mir, who first worked on the Legend of Korra series, and Netflix’s own Voltron: Legendary Defender series (hmm maybe they should have put some form of the word “legend” in their Witcher film).
No release date was revealed for the film, nor was it confirmed if Henry Cavill (or other castmembers) would be reprising his role for the project.
