New ‘Punisher’ Mini-Series & ‘Immortal Hulk’ One-Shot In April

Marvel should be releasing their April solicitations soon, but for now they are still teasing that month’s offerings bit by bit. Today, we got two more.

Punisher will be ending his latest mini-series, Punisher: Soviet, in March but those who like the character won’t have to wait long for more bullet-flying-revenge. The Punisher vs. Barracuda will start up in April, and will run for five issues. The mini-series will be by writer Ed Brisson, and artist Declan Shalvey. And guess what? It will feature the Punisher going up against Barracuda! Here’s the solicit:

THE BADDEST OF THE BAD ENTERS THE MARVEL U!

Barracuda, terror of the legendary PUNISHER MAX run, makes his Marvel Universe debut in this prestige miniseries from creators Ed Brisson and Declan Shalvey! While Frank Castle closes the case on a mob hitman hiding out in the Deep South, a brutal jailbreak in Miami catches his eye. But one of the escaped prisoners is the man known only as Barracuda, the most sadistic and dangerous of killers in a gangland filled with extremely dangerous and sadistic killers. Lock the doors and prep the morgues; war is coming to Miami!

March’s Marvel solicitations did not list an issue for Immortal Hulk, though the February solicitations did not indicate that the title (issue #31) was ending. Though we haven’t seen April’s solicitations yet, at least fans of the unkillable Jade Giant will get their fix with Immortal Hulk: The Threshing Place. This one-shot will be written by Jeff Lemire, with art and cover by Mike Del Mundo. This one-shot has the Hulk searching for a gamma monster that is not himself. Here is how Marvel describes it:

IMMORTAL HULK: THE THRESHING PLACE #1
JEFF LEMIRE (W) • MIKE DEL MUNDO (A/C)

TWO OF COMICS’ MOST IMAGINATIVE TALENTS UNITE FOR A HULK TALE LIKE NONE OTHER!

There’s a monster raging in America’s heartland – and it’s not the Hulk. When a young girl goes missing on a Kansas farm, Bruce Banner gets the itch – the one that tells him gamma is on the loose. But this town doesn’t take kindly to strangers – especially the big, green, violent kind. Can the Hulk save a child before it’s too late, or is he about to take the blame for another massacre?
