Upcoming WarnerMedia streaming service HBO Max is adding another DC-related property to their lineup: Aquaman. Aquaman: King of Atlantis will be an animated three episode mini-series, and will have the Aquaman live-action movie director, James Wan, onboard as an executive producer.
News of this mini-series surfaced via Variety, and included this description:
“King of Atlantis” will begin with Aquaman’s first day on the job as king of Atlantis. Luckily, he has his two royal advisors to back him up – Vulko, the scholar, and Mera, the water controlling warrior-princess. Between dealing with unscrupulous surface dwellers, elder evils from beyond time and his own half-brother who wants to overthrow him, Aquaman is going to have to rise to the challenge and prove to his subjects, and to himself, that he’s the right man for the trident.
No information was provided regarding who will voice the characters in the show, nor when you will be able to sea it. HBO Max is planned to launch sometime in Spring 2020.
