The Marvel series of Star Wars comics came to an end earlier this year, but it was also announced that two of the series would get a relaunch. Well, it looks like the folks at Lucasfilm might like having a third series around (Doctor Aphra was the previous third series) as the company announced a new series launching next March.
The new series will tackle the “complicated profession” of bounty hunting and will be shockingly titled Star Wars: Bounty Hunters. While it won’t feature the yet-to-be-named star of The Mandalorian Disney+ series, it will feature a few names you might have heard of.
The series follows cyborg bounty hunter Beilert Valance as he seeks revenge on mentor-turned-betrayer Nakano Lash, who has recently resurfaced under mysterious circumstances. But Valance isn’t the only mercenary looking for Lash, and he soon finds himself on a collision course with Boba Fett, Bossk, and a slew of new killers.
Valance is a character that originated in Marvel’s original Star Wars comic series from the 1970s. He then appeared again in a special issue continuing the old continuity, but was then put into the modern canon in this past Summer’s Target Vader mini-series.
Bounty Hunters will be written by Ethan Sacks with Paolo Villanelli and will be out in Imperial March.
