Comichron has released its compiled sales information for comic sales in November 2019 and sales are down, compared to the previous month. Retailers ordered just over $42 million in comic books and graphic novels, a steep drop in last month’s $56 million.
Month over month saw a big drop in sales in both dollars and units, but compared to last year sales in both categories are up.
Both Marvel and DC saw their dollar share drop a couple percentage points compared to last month. Boom saw a huge leap from sixth to fourth place.
For comic books by units, Marvel took eight spots, including the top seven. Image and DC each took one.
For comic books by dollar amount, Marvel took eight spots, including the top six. Image and DC each took one spot.
For graphic novels by units, it was a mixed bag. DC took two spots, including the top spot. Marvel took four, Dark Horse took two, and Boom and Image both took one.
For graphic novels by dollar amount, Marvel took two spots, including the top spot. DC took a whopping seven, including the second spot with a $500 box set. Boom took the final spot.
Overall items shipped compared to last month were down nearly 100 units. Marvel led the pack even with 33 less titles released.
