The CW’s Crisis On Infinite Earths crossover event between Arrow, The Flash, Supergirl, Batwoman, and Legends of Tomorrow is based on the comic event of the same name. And as a tie-in to the show, no, DC Comics is rereleasing the 12-issue series from the 80s that the crossover event is based on from Marv Wolfman and George Perez. Instead, according to an Amazon listing, DC is releasing a hardcover edition of two new Crisis issues.
According to the Amazon description for the book, the first issue will feature two new stories co-written by Wolfman and Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim. The first 24-page story has no artist attached, while the second, an 8-page back-up story, will feature art by Tom Grummett, Danny Miki, and Chris Sotomayor, and letters by Wes Abbott. The issue also features a full reprint of Crisis on Infinite Earths #1, and excerpted material from Crisis #7, the death of Supergirl.
The second issue of the tie-in series will include stories co-written by Wolfman and Guggenheim, with another 24-page main story with art by Andy Owens and Hi-Fi, and another 8-page backup illustrated by Grummett, Miki, and Sotomayor, with Abbott lettering both stories. The issue also has a full reprint of Crisis on Infinite Earths #8, plus an excerpt from DC Universe: Legacies #6.
Additionally, Crisis on Infinite Earths comic book writer Marv Wolfman will co-write season 8 episode 8 with Arrow Executive Producer Marc Guggenheim.
The TV event will begin in December and will conclude in January.
Amazon lists the hardcover release date as June 2020, months after the TV event ends.
