Channing Tatum Adapting Sam Kieth’s The Maxx

Sam Kieth started in comics inking on Matt Wagner’s The Mage and drawing Neil Gaiman’s Sandman. But it’s his Image Comics series The Maxx that he’s best known for. The Maxx follows the titular hero in the real world and an alternate reality called The Outback. In reality, The Maxx is a homeless man, but in The Outback, he’s the protector of The Jungle Queen, who in real life is a social worker.

MTV made an animated series based on The Maxx in 1995 and it looks like The Maxx is coming back thanks to Channing Tatum.

Tatum is producing a new adaptation of The Maxx, alongside producer Roy Lee. It’s unclear whether or not the adaptation will be for TV or film.

Tatum’s Free Association recently wrapped production on Two Kisses For Maddie and Lee’s poorly named Vertigo Entertainment produced It: Chapter 2 and Doctor Sleep.
