Netflix’s adaptation of Sandman is still in the pre-production phase, but that isn’t stopping Neil Gaiman from planning ahead. Talking to RadioTimes, Gaiman said that the team is already at work breaking down the first two seasons of the show.
“There are three of us, the showrunner Allan Heinberg, David Goyer and me, and we’ve just finished writing the first episode, and plotting and breaking down the first two seasons, so we’ll see what happens next.”
Gaiman is writing and executive producing, as is David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg is showrunning/lead writer.
Sandman was created by Gaiman, Sam Kieth and Mike Dringenberg for Vertigo Comics in 1989. The Sandman follows Dream of the Endless, as he tries to reclaim his throne after decades of imprisonment on Earth.
No release date has been given for the 11 episode first season.
