Yet another announcement from Marvel at the MCM Comic Con London is for a 6-issue anthology series titled Marvel Anthology (or simply “Marvel” according to Newsarama and ComicBook). The series will be “curated” by artist Alex Ross. Ross gained fame for his painted artwork on the 1993 series Marvels, written by Kurt Busiek. Marvel Anthology will have Ross-provided covers, and interior art by different artists, selected by Ross. Writer Steve Darnall will provide connecting framing sequences to tie the short stories in the issues together.
No details about the stories have been revealed, nor has a release date been announced. The second issue though, will have X-Men art painted by Dan Brereton with a story that takes place shortly after Giant-Size X-Men #1.
