It’s Lights Out For ‘Cloak & Dagger’ On Freeform

It looks like it’s lights out for the live-action Cloak & Dagger TV show. Deadline is reporting that Freeform, the TV channel that aired the show, has opted not to pick up the show for a third season. Cloak & Dagger had its second season finale on May 30 of this year and ratings have dropped almost 40% from the first season.

Freeform provided a statement about the show’s cancellation to Deadline:

“We are so proud of Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger and the trailblazing stories this series told” … “We are also grateful to our incredible talent Oliva Holt and Aubrey Joseph for bringing these beloved characters to life, and showrunner Joe Pokaski for his vision. We’d like to thank our partners at Marvel Television for a wonderful two seasons and are we are hopeful that we can find another project together.”

Fans of the show might be surprised at this turn of events, as the actors for the show voiced their respective characters in the animated Marvels’ Spider-Man earlier this month, and are set to appear in a crossover episode of Marvel’s Runaways in December. Well, at least they’ll get one more appearance…
