‘Iron Man 2020’ Series Will Have Spin-Offs Including ‘Force Works’ & ‘Machine Man’

Earlier this month, it was revealed that the current Iron Man comic would be ending, to be replaced with Iron Man 2020 in… 2020. Apparently that is not the only Iron Man-related title coming to shelves next year as that series will be spinning off other (limited?) series.

In a preview for Iron Man 2020, a checklist is included which lists a few other series carrying a “2020” badge. In February 2020, Force Works 2020 #1 is listed. That series has at least 3 issues per the checklist. Force Works was the 1994 follow-up title to the West Coast Avengers series. The team initially consisted of Iron Man, Spider-Woman (Julia Carpenter), USAgent, Scarlet Witch, Wonder Man, and the alien Century and would take a more preventative role than the West Coast Avengers did. Could this be a return of this team? Or maybe it will be the 50-State Initiative‘s Iowa team by the same name? We’re not sure…

February will also bring a Machine Man 2020 spin-off. This series will be at least two issues. 1984’s Machine Man limited series introduced Arno Stark, Iron Man 2020.

New spin-off titles in March are Iron Age 2020 #1 and Rescue 2020 #1. The Rescue armor is the one that Pepper Potts wore, but there isn’t any indication that this will be the case for the 2020 title. Similarly a new Ironheart 2020 series is starting up for May, but we don’t know if it will be starring Riri Williams. May will also bring Weapon.EXE 2020 #1. The last month listed on the checklist is June 2020, with Iron Man 2020 #6, Ironheart 2020 #2, and Weapon.EXE 2020 #2 on tap.
