Marvel is restructuring under its Disney overlords. Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige is also getting the title of Chief Creative Officer of Marvel Comics. He takes over the position from Joe Quesada who will become EVP Creative Director.
In his new position, all of Marvel’s creatives, across TV, film, and publishing, will report to Feige. He’ll continue to report to Walt Disney Co-Chairman and Chief Creative Officer Alan Horn and Co-Chairman Alan Bergman.
Meanwhile, Dan Buckley will continue as President of Marvel Entertainment as will Chairman and Emperor Palpatine-inspiration Ike Perlmutter. Buckley will split reporting duties though, overseeing publishing creative/editorial and reporting to Feige, while overseeing publishing operations, sales, creative services, games, licensing and events, which reports to Perlmutter.
This restructuring will continue to take power away from Perlmutter, who is a well-known donor to Trump’s campaign and adviser to the President on VA Affairs. He recently donated the maximum amount of $360,000 to Trump’s re-election campaign.
Remember, when you “Make Mine Marvel”, you might inadvertently be helping Perlmutter to “Make America Great Again.”
