With Whiskey Cavalier Cancelled, Lauren Cohan Returns To Walking Dead For Season 11

With the announcement that The Walking Dead would be renewed for an eleventh season, showrunner Angela Kang revealed that Lauren Cohan would be returning to the show as a series regular. Cohan departed the show during the tenth season in order to star in ABC’s Whiskey Cavalier, which was cancelled before the end of the first season.

“It’s completely surreal,” said the actress, appearing onstage at New York Comic Con. “It feels just like home. It feels so emotional. It feels really, really emotional. I feel like this is a very special Comic-Con and a very special family and I’m really happy to be here.”

The tenth season of The Walking Dead adapts The Whisper War arc, one of the final storylines of the comic. Season eleven will continue the storyline, but it’s unclear whether this will see the show wrapping up as well. Additionally, Paola L├ízaro will portray Princess, a character who debuts near the end of the run of the comics.
