Dave Gibbons, co-creator of Watchmen, has had his comic Treatment optioned by the film division of Madefire from the comic division of Madefire.
Treatment, written and drawn by Gibbons, is set in a dystopian future where crime is rampant following three recessions and killers hunt down criminals on television for entertainment.
“Madefire has been at the cutting edge of publishing for years now, using technology to bring comic book stories alive,” said Gibbons. “I’m thrilled to have ‘Treatment’ be a part of their expansion into film and television and look forward to continuing our long and happy association.”
No timeframe for the release has been given.
