Always On The Cutting Edge, Archie To Meet The B-52s

Archie Comics made a distinct effort in the last few years to rebrand itself as a modern company, hiring Mark Waid and Fiona Staples to reinvent their flagship title. Then they got Chip Zdarsky and Erica Henderson to revamp Jughead. There’s even been two Archie vs Predator series. So when it comes to modern bands, who should Archie meet? If you said The B-52s, you probably work for Archie Comics.

In an upcoming one-shot written by Alex Segura and Matt Rosenberg and drawn by Dan Parent, Archie is set to meet The B-52s. Formed in 1976, the band is known for their hits Rock Lobster, Love Shack, and Roam. In the press release, Segura said:

“The B-52s are a seminal, quirky, and groundbreaking group, and I feel so lucky to have the chance to make a little rock and roll history with them and Riverdale’s own, The Archies. Expect a lot of bonkers fun, eye-popping art, and a lot of new wave-y adventure.”

Archie Meets The B-52s is set to release February 2020.
