With the Star Wars Obi-Wan Kenobi series FINALLY confirmed, things can finally get rolling on the production side. We already know who will star in the series (he will also be one of the executive producers on the show), but who will be running the show?
Enter Deborah Chow. Chow has had some directorial experience, for genre fans, notably on Jessica Jones and Iron Fist. What landed her the job though was her work on Disney+‘s other live-action Star Wars show, The Mandalorian said Lucasfilm head honcho Kathleen Kennedy:
“We really wanted to select a director who is able to explore both the quiet determination and rich mystique of Obi-Wan in a way that folds seamlessly into the Star Wars saga. Based on her phenomenal work developing our characters in The Mandalorian, I’m absolutely confident Deborah is the right director to tell this story.”
The Obi-Wan Kenobi series will take place eight years after the events of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith. The series will be written by Hossein Amini and will stream on Disney+. A launch window for the show has not been announced.
