With 32 Emmy Nominations, Game Of Thrones Season 8 Walks Away With 12 Wins

The eighth season of Game Of Thrones stunned the world and broke records when it was announced the show garnered 32 Emmy nominations. Though it earned plenty of nominations, the season only won two of the “big” awards, with ten other wins coming in the creative arts section.

Somehow the series finale The Iron Throne received four nominations including best directing. It is still the lowest rated episode on Rotten Tomatoes, sitting at 49%.

The 71st Primetime Emmy Awards aired Sunday, September 22 at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT on Fox.
