At San Diego Comic-Con this year, Marvel teased a new 2099 event. The November solicitations revealed the event to be a bunch of one-shots, for a hefty price of which four were being released that month. Today, Marvel released info about creative teams for the rest of the titles.
Doom 2099 #1 will be written by Chip Zdarsky who will do his best to “best to really hold onto the spirit of the original”. Art will be by Marco Castiello.
Current Amazing Spider-Man writer Nick Spencer will take on Spider-Man 2099 (Miguel O’Hara), who also appeared in the ongoing. Jose Carlos Silva will handle art.
Spencer will also be writing 2099 Omega #1 with artist Gerardo Sandoval which has a world run by Doom, and no heroes coming to the rescue.
Writer Ed Brisson will apparently reimagine Kenshiro “Zero” Cochrane for this one-shot, with art by Damian Couceiro.
Jody Houser will be writing the Venom 2099 one-shot and only used the word “fear” to describe the issue. Francesco Mobili is doing art for the issue.
The 2099 event will continue in December 2019.
