The second quarter of 2019 saw IDW Media Holdings report a loss of $3.7 million, while the most recent third quarter saw the company report a smaller loss of $1.5 million, showing things are turning around for the company. The smaller amount was bolstered by strong sales of They Called Us Enemy, the autobiographical graphic novel by George Takei.
Of that $1.5 million loss, IDW Publishing accounted for $1.2 million, with game sales down $139,000 due to release schedules and a one-time specialty project accounting for $80,000. Revenues in the company’s other divisions IDW Entertainment and CTM Media were down as well.
IDW Media Holdings looks to have a better Q4 as the company will deliver both October Faction and V-Wars to Netflix in Q4. Additionally, in Q1 2020, the company is also expecting to deliver Locke & Key to Netflix.
