Marvel Comics has teased a new superhero team, Doc Justice and the J-Team, which is surprisingly not a 1980s hip-hop trio. In a video posted to Twitter, Executive Editor Nick Lowe reveals that Doc Justice, whose mysterious identity will be shown as the story goes on, will lead a “motley crew of teen superheroes” who are “coming onto the scene to save the innocent and bring down evil.”
Lowe isn’t hyping up the team too much, claiming that they’ll only change part of the Marvel Universe.
“The J-Team is gonna change part of the Marvel Universe forever,” Lowe continues. “I know we say that a lot. But it’s true. Not much is know about the man behind the mask. But Doc Justice and the J-Team are joining the Marvel tapestry of incredible characters to bring a new type of comic book to you, the Marvel readers.”
We’re not sure what the new type of comic book Marvel will be introducing. Maybe one that is cost-effective? Maybe one that doesn’t rely on cheap gimmicks for short-term sales? We doubt it.
