Marvels Being Adapted To Podcast So You Won’t Have To See What A Bad Artist You Are Compared To Alex Ross

Marvel Comics is partnering with Stitcher to adapt Marvels into a ten-part podcast series. Marvels is set to launch this fall and will be exclusive to Stitcher Premium until 2020, when it’ll be available across all podcast services.

Set in the 1939 to 1974 time period, the original series, by Kurt Busiek and Alex Ross, examines the Marvel Universe, the collective setting of most of Marvel’s superhero series, from the perspective of an Everyman character, news photographer Phil Sheldon. The street-level series portrayed ordinary life in a world full of costumed superhumans, with each issue featuring events well known to readers of Marvel comics, as well as a variety of minute details and a retelling of the most famous events in the Marvel universe.

The Stitcher series takes place in the aftermath of the Fantastic Four’s battle with Galactus, high above New York City, for the fate of the world. One intrepid photographer, an ambitious college student, and a cynical journalist embark on an investigation to confirm or debunk one of the most super-powered conspiracy theories of all time.

The show’s cast includes Method Man as Ben Urich, AnnaSophia Robb as Marcia Hardesty, Ethan Peck as Mr. Fantastic, Seth Barrish as Phil Sheldon. Louisa Krause as Sue Storm, Jake Hart as Ben Grimm, Ehad Berisha as Johnny Storm, Teo Rapp-Olsson as Peter Parker, and Gabriela Ortega as Charlie Martinez.
