Live-Action Lumberjanes Movie Axed By Disney

20th Century Fox’s Lumberjanes film, which has been in development since 2015, has been axed by new parent company Disney. The film was to be written by Will Widger and directed by Emily Carmichael.

The report says the Disney is tightening its grip on Fox projects, thanks to the studio’s recent string of flops including X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Stuber, and The Art of Racing in the Rain.

Created by Shannon Watters, Grace Ellis, Noelle Stevenson, and Brooke A. Allen, Lumberjanes is the story of five young girls who encounter supernatural forces while at summer camp.
