Marvel Hails A Mystery King For Something In November

San Diego Comic-Con 2019 just wrapped up yesterday, but Marvel hasn’t left the teaser train yet. There were quite a few comics Marvel revealed for October at SDCC, and the company also gave a peek at two more titles invading shelves in November. Well, add another item to the November calendar.

On Twitter, Marvel posted a teaser image with the text “Long Live the King” on it and a November 2019 date. The image shows a blacked-out character with a royal headpiece holding a scepter and sitting on a throne. The throne appears to be situated on some sort of creature. The image bears the signatures of Chris Bachalo and Tim Townsend.

Newsarama managed to get a larger image showing a bit more of the tentacled/thorny creature, and a fabric that has the colors of Doctor Strange‘s cloak (though not the same design). Bachalo and Townsend of course helped relaunch Doctor Strange in 2015 with writer Jason Aaron (Mark Waid and Jesús Saiz  have since re-relaunched the title).

So do you readers think this is magic-related? Who do you think this mysterious king is?
