SDCC: IDW Goes Back To The Mirror Universe AGAIN With ‘Star Trek: Voyager’ (And Eventually TOS & DS9)

IDW is boldly going where it has gone many times before, announcing at San Diego Comic-Con, that a new one-shot featuring Star Trek‘s Mirror Universe as the backdrop. This time though, it will feature the crew of the U.S.S. Voyager and will be titled Star Trek: Voyager: Mirrors and Smoke. As noted, the Mirror Universe is no longer a rare excursion by IDW, who has had The Next Generation visit it several times, and also the Discovery crew, who also visited it in their streaming show.

For Mirrors and Smoke, we’ll of course see the mirror versions of Janeway and company:

Voyager: Mirrors and Smoke introduces Captain Janeway of the Voyager, a rebel ship stranded in the Delta Quadrant, far from the ruins of the Terran Empire. When Janeway crowns herself Pirate Queen of the Quadrant, the locals – including scavengers Neelix and Kes – won’t give up without a fight. Amid this conflict, the crew of the Voyager has a second problem on their hands: just who is the Terran calling herself Annika Hansen, and can she be trusted?

The comic will be written by Paul Allor with art by J.K. Woodward, who is also no stranger to the Mirror Universe, having worked on Star Trek: The Next Generation: Mirror Broken. Star Trek: Voyager: Mirrors and Smoke will arrive in October.

That’s not all though as the company is also promising Mirror Universe one-shots featuring Star Trek: The Original Series and Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, who both have visited there in their television series, in the future.
