New ‘Star Trek: Picard’ Key Art Previews Show’s Best New Character

The upcoming Star Trek: Picard was teased last year with Patrick Stewart reprising his role as Jean-Luc Picard. In May, we got a video tease and key art for the show with the tagline “The end is only the beginning…” Along the way we also got announcements for some of the castmembers who will be joining Picard on his adventure, including Santiago Cabrera, Michelle Hurd, Evan Evagora, Alison Pill, Harry Treadaway, and Isa Briones.

However, today a new piece of key art (read: poster) dropped today, introducing a new character, and no offense to the previous announcements, the best character. There is no tagline for today’s key art, but there is a tag:

Yes, it looks like Picard has acquired himself a new friend, and he is surely a good boy (or girl). No official name has been given for this character, but the eagle-eyed crew at TrekCore, may have the answer:

Sorry William T. Riker, you’ve been replaced.

Star Trek: Picard should be arriving later this year, though the official word is still “coming soon”. More information about Star Trek: Picard, and hopefully more about his new No. 1, will be coming during San Diego Comic-Con on July 20th’s Enter the ‘Star Trek’ Universe panel.
