In IDW Media Holding’s most recent quarterly earnings report, it was reported that IDW Entertainment was prepping to deliver many of its TV shows by Q4. One show was lacking from the announcement though, Wynonna Earp. It was revealed in February 2019 that, IDWM had trouble funding both seasons four and five of the show.
But there’s good news for Earpbronies around the world, which is what Bleeding Cool sellout Jude Terror tells me is the “colloquial term” for hardcore fans of Wynonna Earp. Preproduction on season 4 of Wynonna Earp will begin this fall.
The show, which follows the titular Wynonna Earp, granddaughter of Wyatt Earp, as she protects her hometown of Puragatory from demons, will have a panel at San Diego Comic Con which will feature showrunner Emily Andras, cast members Melanie Scrofano, Katherine Barrell, and Greg Lawson, as well as Wynonna Earp comic creator Beau Smith.
Comicspit talked to notable Earpbrony Gavin Dillinger for an EXXXCLUSIVE comment on the return of the show. Dillinger told us, “I’ve been standing outside with FREE WINONA written on my chest since I first heard the news back in February. I can’t believe the show was renewed for season 4, but not season 5. Can SyFy and IDW be any greedier?”
The show’s writers will start in November for a January shoot. Season 4 is set to run 12 episodes on SyFy.
