Newest Iteration Of ‘Transformers’ Comics Gets First Spin-Off Series With ‘Transformers: Galaxies’

IDW‘s Transformers comics were rebooted this past March. Rather than having two different titles, IDW seemed to be keeping it simple with a single Transformers title out twice a month. Well, you can’t keep IDW from expanding their comics lines, so it was just a matter of time before the first Transformers spin-off series (versus one-shot) was announced.

Transformers: Galaxies will start in September and will have:

story arcs that delve deeper into the origins, motivations, and world-shattering machinations of the extended Transformers cast…

The first arc in Galaxies will focus on everyone’s favorite Decepticon combiner team, the Constructicons. Here’s how IDW describes the title’s first arc:

Long ago, after the War Against the Threefold Spark ended, the Constructicons emerged to help rebuild the decimated planet in grand fashion. But what happened to them in the years since? Why had they been erased from Cybertron’s history… and what have they been planning for their devastating return?

Tyler Bleszinski will write the first arc of Transformers: Galaxies, with Livio Ramondelli on art. Of course, there will be multiple covers (the B cover is by Nick Roche) and retailer incentive covers (by George Caltsoudas and Casey W. Coller) for the first issue.
