Though Avengers: Endgame broke all kinds of records, it doesn’t look like it will overtake the all-time box office champ, Avatar. However, it doesn’t mean Marvel and Disney will not give it a try (though we guess Disney also owns Avatar now). Although Avengers: Endgame is still in theaters, it looks like Disney will be giving it a theatrical re-release.
It won’t just be a simple re-release though, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige teased:
“… there will be a version going into theaters with a bit of a marketing push with a few new things at the end of the movie. If you stay and watch the movie, after the credits, there’ll be a deleted scene, a little tribute, and a few surprises. Which will be next weekend.”
Most outlets are predicting that even with a re-release (which Avatar also had), it will not take the top spot. However, we know that Marvel and the Avengers will do whatever it takes to do it. Avengers: Endgame will be back in theaters with extras June 28, 2019.
