While the future of Vertigo is still up in the air, it does seem like some of the titles previously published under that imprint are going to end up at Black Label.
American Vampire was created by writer Scott Snyder and artist Rafael Albuquerque and was originally published at Vertigo. The series has been on hiatus since 2016 and when asked about the series return on Twitter, Snyder said production will begun the end of summer for a 2020 release at Black Label.
When asked if this meant the end of Vertigo, Snyder walked it back a bit, stating that he wasn’t sure if this was the end.
As we previously reported, DC Comics‘ other imprints include DC Ink (for YA books), DC Zoom (for middle grade books) Young Animal (for Gerard Way fans), and Black Label (for Batdong and mature fans), so why would they still have a need for Vertigo?
