Bendis Brings Back The Legion In ‘Legion Of Super-Heroes: Millennium’

You asked for it, you got it. Brian Michael Bendis and a legion of artists are set to bring back the Legion of Super-Heroes to the DC comic universe. The writer will set the stage for the return of the 31st century super team in a two-issue special titled Legion of Super-Heroes: Millennium starting in September, which will eventually lead to the team fully returning to the DCU.

The Beat describes the two-issue series like this:

This all-star series will feature a surprising tour guide leading readers through a very long journey to the 31st Century, as she finds herself suddenly immortal and embarking on a 1,000 year odyssey connecting all of DC’s future timelines officially for the very first time. She’ll encounter quite an array of DC characters and settings both dystopian and utopian, each drawn by a different artist of renown.

The first issue will feature the following characters and artists:

  • Supergirl by Jim Lee
  • Batman Beyond by Dustin Nguyen
  • Kamandi by Andrea Sorrentino
  • Tommy Tomorrow by André Lima Araújo

The second issue due in October will feature these characters/stories and artists:

  • Booster Gold  by Nicola Scott
  • OMAC by Jim Cheung
  • DC “off-world” chapter by Jeff Dekal
  • Legion of Super-Heroes by Ryan Sook
